Abstract

Recently, educational researches have indicated that the student centered teaching methods have supplied a more effectual learning media and increased the student's success. One of the student center teaching models is "Problem Based Learning (PBL)". In this study, PBL effect was investigated in primary science education and chemistry education students learning of metalic activity subject in Gazi Education Faculty. Quasi experimental design was used in this research. Logical thinking test, scientific process skill test and succes test were applied to all groups in the research. The success test results applied as post test were showed that there were meaningful differences between groups and between branches whereas there were no meaningful differences between genders. PBL has seen as an effective method for chemistry education and was supposed to practice in other science subjects.
