Abstract

Hemorrhagic complications after adenoidectomy are quite rare, and nearly all of these take place in a few hours after the operation and result from the remnants of the adenoid tissue. We report here in an eight-year-old girl with a massive life-threatening bleeding episode, which developed seven days after the operation. In this case, endoscopic bipolar cauterization, and posterior nasal pack, completely filling the nasopharynx was enough to control bleeding. © 2014 Elsevier Ireland Ltd.
