Communication with Family in Pediatric Nursing
Özet
Communication is an indispensable element for all people to survive. It can also be called a system of relationships created to ensure the exchange of information between individuals. Health communication is defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as the study and use of communication strategies to inform and influence individual decisions to improve health. The two sides of health communication are usually health professionals and patients. Effective, integrated and coordinated communication is reported by the World Health Organization (WHO) as an integral part of fulfilling goals such as health promotion and building a healthier future. In nursing, which is a profession based on human relations, effective communication is necessary for the effectiveness of patient care, professional satisfaction and patient satisfaction, in short, to provide a quality health service. Especially communication with pediatric patients and their families requires special care for nurses. The aim of this review is to examine the quality and importance of nurses' communication with children's families in line with the literature.
