OPINIONS OF STUDENTS STUDYING AT AMASYA UNIVERSITY ON DISTANCE EDUCATION SYSTEM

Abstract

The education world has also been adversely affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, which has negatively affected many areas in the world. However, despite these negativities, Amasya University, like other universities in Turkey, switched to the distance education system in a very short time. In order to determine the views of the students studying at Amasya University about the distance education system infrastructure, the instructors who provide education in the distance education system, the course contents of the distance education system and the foreign language education given by the distance education system, data were obtained from the students through the survey conducted with the participation of 9912 students between on February 15-19 2021 and the interview with the participation of 10 students. A mixed exploratory analysis method was used in the data analysis. According to the results of the research, it was revealed that the students were satisfied with the distance education system. In addition, it has been revealed that the infrastructure of the distance education system, the teaching staff in the distance education system, the course contents of the distance education system and the foreign language education given by the distance education system are sufficient. However, even if it was concluded that the online exams were fair at a good level according to the survey results, the students who participated in the interview stated that it was not fair. They also stated that they experienced systemic problems during the lesson.

Dünyada birçok alanı olumsuz yönde etkileyen Covid-19 salgınından eğitim dünyası da olumsuz yönde etkilenmiştir. Fakat bu olumsuzluklara rağmen Türkiye’deki diğer üniversiteler gibi Amasya Üniversitesi de oldukça kısa sürede uzaktan eğitim sistemine geçmiştir. Uzaktan eğitim sistemi sürecinde Amasya Üniversitesi’nde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitim sistemi altyapısı, uzaktan eğitim sisteminde eğitim veren öğretim elemanları, uzaktan eğitim sistemi ders içerikleri ve uzaktan eğitim sistemi ile verilen yabancı dil eğitimi hakkındaki görüşlerinin neler olduğunun belirlenmesi amacıyla 15-19 Şubat 2021 tarihleri arasında 9912 öğrencinin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilen anket ve 10 öğrencinin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilen görüşme ile öğrencilerden veri elde edilmiştir. Veri analizinde karma açımlayıcı analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucuna göre öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitim sisteminden memnun oldukları ortaya çıkmıştır. Ayrıca uzaktan eğitim sisteminin altyapısının, uzaktan eğitim sisteminde eğitim veren öğretim elemanlarının, uzaktan eğitim sistemi ders içeriklerinin ve uzaktan eğitim sistemi ile verilen yabancı dil eğitiminin yeterli olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Fakat özellikle online sınavların anket sonucuna göre iyi düzeyde adil olduğu sonucu çıksa bile görüşmeye katılan öğrenciler adil olmadığını belirtmişlerdir. Ayrıca ders esnasında sistemsel sorun yaşadıklarını da belirtmişlerdir.
