Ortaokul Öğretmenlerine Göre 8. Sınıf Öğrencilerin Liseye Geçiş Sınavıyla İlgili Yaşadıkları Sorunlar ve Bu Sorunlara İlişkin Çözüm Önerileri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, 8. sınıf öğrencilerin liseye geçiş kapsamındaki merkezi sınavla ilgili yaşadıkları sorunları ve bu sorunlara ilişkin olası çözüm yollarını ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma nitel araştırma desenlerinden olgu bilim deseninde hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında Amasya ilindeki devlet okullarında görev yapan, amaçlı örnek yöntemiyle belirlenen 12 ortaokul öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmacılar, veri toplamak amacıyla yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formunu kullanmışlardır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Katılımcılar liselere geçiş kapsamındaki merkezi sınavı; nitelikli okullara öğrenci seçme, aynı özellikleri taşıma, meslek seçiminde büyük önem taşıma, öğrencileri seçmeye dayalı yerleştirme ve öğrencilerin belirli okullara ve programlara yerleşmesini sağlama şeklinde sıralamışlardır. Ayrıca katılımcılar, ortaokul son sınıf öğrencilerin liseye geçiş sınavıyla ilgili yaşadıkları sorunları; öğrencilerin akademik yeterlilikle sınırlanması, başarılı öğrencilerin merkeze alınması, öğrenci üzerinde baskı oluşturması, sınav sisteminin sık sık değişmesi, sınırlı sayıdaki öğrencilerin nitelikli okullara yerleştirilmesi, sınav sürecinin iyi yönetilememesi ve bazı derslerde zor sorular sorulması şeklinde belirtmişlerdir. Katılımcılar, liselere geçiş kapsamındaki merkezi sınavla ilgili yaşanılan sorunların üstesinden gelinmesi için sınavın tüm öğrencileri kapsaması, sürecin daha belirgin hale getirilmesi, öğrencilerin kendilerini rahat hissetmelerinin sağlanması, öğrenciye destek olunması, fırsat eşitsizliğinin giderilmesi, öğrencilerin gelişimlerini sınırlamaması ve iyi planlama yapılması gibi birtakım önerilerde bulunmuşlardır.

The purpose of this research is to reveal the problems experienced by 8th grade students regarding the central exam within the scope of transition to high school and possible solutions to these problems. The study was prepared in the phenomenology pattern, one of the qualitative research designs. The study group of the research consists of 12 middle school teachers working in public schools in Amasya in the 2021-2022 academic year, determined by the purposeful sample method. The researchers used a semi-structured interview form to collect data. Descriptive analysis technique was used to analyze the data. Participants take the central exam within the scope of transition to high schools; They listed them as choosing students to qualified schools, carrying the same characteristics, having great importance in choosing a profession, placing students based on selection, and ensuring that students are placed in certain schools and programs. In addition, the participants discussed the problems of middle school senior students about the high school entrance exam; They stated that students are limited by academic competence, successful students are put in the center, pressure on students, the examination system changes frequently, a limited number of students are placed in qualified schools, the examination process is not well managed and difficult questions are asked in some courses. The participants made some suggestions such as covering all students, making the process more specific, making the students feel comfortable, supporting the students, eliminating the inequality of opportunity, not limiting the development of the students, and making good planning in order to overcome the problems related to the central exam within the scope of transition to high schools.
