BAHADIR YENİŞEHİRLİOĞLU’NUN SON HASAT ROMANINDA ŞİZOFRENİ VE DAMGALAMA

Abstract

Yazarın kimi zaman kendisinde var olan ya da başkasında gözlemlediği bir hastalığı anlatarak kimi zaman da toplumun hastalıklı yapısını ortaya koyarak dikkatlere sunmak istediği hastalık kavramı, ferdi veya toplumsal, fiziki veya ruhsal olarak çeşitli yönlerden ele alınarak romanlarda işlenir. Toplumsal ve fiziki has-talıklardan ziyade ruhsal hastalıklara daha fazla yer verilen romanlarda okurun karşısına çıkan en yaygın hastalık, şizofrenidir. Şizofreni, insanın davranışlarında, algılarında ve düşüncelerinde bozulmalara yol açan, onun çevresiyle ve toplumla sağlıklı ilişki kurmasını zorlaştıran zihinsel bir hastalıktır. Bu hastalığa sahip olan bireyler, çeşitli nedenlerle ailesi ve toplum tarafından etiketlenerek dışlanabilmekte, diğer bir ifadeyle damgalanmaktadır. Şizofreni tanısı konmuş bireyler, bir taraftan hastalığın sebep olduğu hallerle diğer taraftan da toplumun olumsuz tutumuyla mücadele etmek zorunda kalırlar. Bu çalışmada, Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu’nun Son Hasat romanında, şizofreninin belirtilerinin ve sonuçlarının hasta bireyi nasıl etkilediği, insan gerçekliğinin bir parçası olan bu hastalık halinin toplum tarafından nasıl yorumlandığı ve bu yorumun hasta üzerinde nelere sebep olabileceği türün sunduğu imkânlar ölçüsünde değerlendirilmeye çalışılacaktır.

The concept of disease, which the author sometimes wants to present to attention by revealing the diseased structure of society by explaining a disease that exists in him or has observed in others, is discussed in novels from various aspects, both individually or socially, physically or spiritually. Schizophrenia is the most common illness that readers encounter in novels, in which more mental illnesses are included than social and physical diseases. Schizophrenia is a mental illness that causes distortions in human behaviors, perceptions and thoughts, disrupting its relationship with its environment and society. Individuals with this disease can be labeled and excluded by their family and society for various reasons, in other words, stigmated. Individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia have to fight the negative attitude of society on the one hand and the situations caused by the disease on the other. In this study, Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu's novel The Last Harvest will try to evaluate how the symptoms and consequences of schizophrenia affect the sick person, how this state of illness, which is part of human reality, is interpreted by society and what this interpretation can cause on the patient.
