National and International Action Plans in Protecting Kidney Health and Preventing Kidney Diseases

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease which is at the top of the group of non-communicable chronic diseases, can be stopped and/or slowed down if it is detected early and timely action is taken. When the progression of the disease cannot be prevented, it causes socioeconomic and sociopsychological problems that negatively affect the functioning of all systems. At the same time, the disease and its complications lead to an increase in health care costs. Many risk factors affect kidney health and even vary according to the level of economic development of countries.
