Sosyal bilgiler öğretim programı ve ders kitaplarındaki coğrafya konularının milli kimlik bağlamında incelenmesi

Abstract

Yapılan bu çalışmada Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretim Programı ve ders kitaplarındaki coğrafya konularını milli kimlik bağlamında değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma yapılırken nitel araştırma yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Araştırma verileri birincil kaynaklardan olan Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretim Programı ve ders kitaplarından elde edilmiştir. Bu amaçla doküman incelemesi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın, coğrafya ve milli kimlik ilişkisi bakımından sosyal bilgiler öğretimine farklı bir bakış açısı getireceği öngörülmektedir. Burada yapılan araştırmaların sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerine yol göstermesi hedeflenmektedir. Ayrıca, sosyal bilgiler dersinde coğrafya konularındaki Türk kimliğine ilişkin yapılan çalışmaların daha iyi anlaşılmasını sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir. Milli kimlikle ilgili kavramlara sosyal bilgiler öğretim programı ve ders kitaplarındaki coğrafya konularında ne düzeyde yer verildiğinin ölçütü de sayılacağı beklenmektedir.

In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the geography topics in social studies curriculum and textbooks in the context of national identity and to reach findings regarding this issue in the textbooks. Qualitative research method was preferred while conducting the study. Research data were obtained from social studies curriculum and textbooks, which are primary sources. For this purpose, the document review method was used. It is anticipated that this study will bring a different perspective to social studies teaching in terms of the relationship between geography and national identity. It is aimed that all of the research conducted here will guide social studies teachers. In addition, it is thought that the studies on Turkish identity in geography subjects in the social studies course will provide a better understanding. It is expected that it will be considered as a criterion to what extent concepts related to national identity are included in geography subjects in social studies curriculum and textbooks.
