BİREYSEL-TOPLUMSAL FARKLILIKLAR VE AHLÂKÎ GÖRECELİK SORUNU

Abstract

Ahlâk ilkelerinin sabit olmadığını, zamana ve şartlara göre değiştiğini iddia eden ahlâkî göreceliğin (rölativizmin) temel dayanaklarından biri de kişisel ve toplumsal farklılıklardır. Bu çalışmada kişisel ve toplumsal farklılıkların ahlâkî göreceliğe dayanak olup olamayacağı tartışılmaktadır. Ayrıca ahlâkî değerlerin rölatif olduğu tezine karşı; ahlâk alanında bazı yerel ve değişen değerler olmakla birlikte toplumsal hayatı mümkün kılan çoğu değerin evrensel olduğu öne sürülmektedir. Örneğin örf adetler alanında ve toplumlardaki bazı lokal uygulamalarda rölatif değerlere rastlanabilir. Ancak insan yaşamı ve onuru, malın korunması gibi temel haklar ile ilgili ve insanların huzur ve mutluluğu ile ilgili ahlâkî değerlerin tarihin her döneminde ve tüm toplumlarda evrensel olduğu görülür. Ayrıca ahlâk hakkında bir uzlaşı sağlanabilmesi ve toplumsal hayatın barış ve huzur içinde sürdürülebilmesi için değerlerin evrensel olduğu tezi daha savunulabilir durmaktadır.

One of the basic foundations of the moral relativism, which claims that moralities aren’t fixed but they change according to time and conditions, are individual and social differences. In this study, it is argued that if the individual and social differences can be the foundations of moral relativism. Also, as an opposite idea to the argument that says moral values are relatives; it is suggested that as well as there are some local and changing values in the field of morals, most of the values which make the social life possible, are universal. For example; one can encounter with relative values in the field of manners and customs and with some local practices within the society. However, it is seen that moral values concerning to human life and honor, fundamental rights such as protection of the property and the tranquility and happiness of the people are universal in each part of the history and in all societies. Besides, to create a consensus about morals and to be able to maintain the social life with peace and tranquility, the argument that says values are universal remains more justifiable.
