6, 7 VE 8. SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN YAZILI ANLATIM BECERİLERİNİN SÖZVARLIĞI VE SÖZCÜK SIKLIĞI DAĞILIMI AÇISINDAN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Bu çalışma, öğrencilerin yazılı anlatım becerilerindeki sözvarlığı ve sözcük sıklığı dağılımını ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlamaktadır. Böylelikle, öğrencilerin hem temel sözcük dağarcıkları ortaya çıkartılabilir hem de bu sözvarlığı ögelerinin yazılı anlatım becerilerine yansıma durumu belirlenebilir. Bu durum, öğrencilerin yazılı anlatım becerilerinde sözvarlığının gelişmesine katkı sağlayabilir. Betimsel bir yöntemle gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmaya, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf düzeylerinde olmak üzere 60 öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen açık uçlu bir soruyla öğrencilerin yazdıkları kompozisyonlardan elde edilmiştir. Öğrencilerden elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesinde ise, içerik çözümlemesi kullanılmıştır. Bu çözümleme, Cibakaya 2.3 dizin programı aracılığıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, bu çalışmada, 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf düzeylerindeki öğrencilerin yazılan anlatımlarındaki sözvarlığı ve sözcük sıklıkları incelendiğinde, onların çeşit ve soyut sözvarlığı bakımından yeterli düzeyde olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Bu durum, öğrencilerin anlama ve anlatma becerilerinin niteliğinin olumsuz etkilenmesine,onların duygu ve düşüncelerini etkili bir biçimde dile getirememelerine, iletişim ve etkileşim süreçlerinde olumsuzluklar yaşamalarına yol açabilir. Bu bakımdan, hem farklı yaş ve gelişim düzeylerinde bulunan öğrencilerden hem de alan uzmanları tarafından belirlenmiş nitelikli yapıt, gazete, dergi ve ilgili kaynaklardan oluşturulacak havuzdan en sık kullanılan sözcükler belirlenerek yaş gruplarına uygun bir biçimde kazandırılması gereken sözcük listeleri belirlenebilir ve öğrencilerin ilgi alanları ve alışkanlıkları da göz önüne alınarak elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda öğretim programları ve ders araç gereçleri hazırlanabilir.

This study aims to reveal the vocabulary and word frequency distribution of students' written expression skills. Thus, the basic vocabulary of the students can be revealed and the reflection status of these words to the written expression skills may be determined. This may contribute to the development of the learner's literary skills in written expression.It was participated sixty students including 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in this descriptive study. The data of the study were obtained from the composition of the students with an open-ended question developed by the researchers. Content analysis was used to analyze the data obtained from the students.This analysis was performed through the Cibakaya 2.3 directory program. As a result, in this study, it was determined that when the vocabulary and word frequencies in the written expressions of the students at the 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels were examined, they were not sufficient in terms of variety and abstract vocabulary. This can lead to the negative effects of the quality of the students' understanding and explaining skills, their ability to express their emotions and thoughts in an effective manner, and the negativity in communication and interaction processes.In this respect, the most frequently used words may be determined from the students who are at different ages and development levels as well as the qualified works, newspapers, magazines and related resources determined by the field experts and the word lists which should be given to the age groups in an appropriate way may be determined and the students' interests and habits. Instructional programs and course materials may be prepared in the direction of the obtained data.
