Corridors are linear areas and are intended to meet the needs of urban people in urban areas. Corridors have the characteristics of linearity, multifunctionality, connectivity, sustainability, offering alternative transportation means and contributing to landscape planning. Corridors are named according to their function with different names such as water corridor, wildlife corridor, recreation corridor, tourism corridor. Tourism corridor is the development and use of routes with abiotic, biotic and cultural landscape components based on certain themes for tourism purposes. Tourism corridors with historical and cultural values, local food theme, thermal resource values, transporting to religious areas and enabling agricultural activities enable local and foreign tourists to perform various touristic activities. At the same time, tourism corridors have important open-air classrooms as local and foreign tourists can learn about natural animal species, natural and endemic plant species, ecosystem and ecological processes in these areas. Tourism corridors should be handled with an integrated approach in line with their tourism potentials. Within the scope of the study, the importance and necessity of planning tourism corridors with different themes in urban areas will be emphasized. © Peter Lang GmbH Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften Berlin 2021 All rights reserved.
