Anatolia region has been home to numerous civilizations throughout known history. As one would expect, this region is also home to a wide range of structures differing in size and type. Amasya is one of the important cities in which these structures were built. In this study, Burmali (meaning twisted or wreathed in Turkish) Minaret Mosque has been modeled using macro modelling technique as 3D model and has been subjected to static and dynamic analyses. In the static analysis, it has been observed that the stress increases in the dome in the middle as well as the arch that carries it. In the dynamic analysis, however, the stress is observed to increase at the supports of the main columns, whereas maximum levels of displacements have been observed as a translation at the crown of the structure. Especially the domes are found to be actively involved in displacement motion as a result of the dynamic analysis. The photographs from an unknown older date reveal deformed parts which are coherent with the results of the analyses, which reveal the possible areas that are vulnerable to damage. This study is believed to be useful in guiding future studies. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.en_US
