Amasya Üniversitesi Sağlık Yüksekokulu Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinin İlaç Uygulama Hataları

Abstract

Pek çok sağlık disiplinini içinde barındıran ilaç uygulamaları hemşirelik mesleği için belki de en önemli süreçtir. Bu süreç sırasında öğrencilerin etik ve hukuksal sorumluluklarının yanı sıra hasta açısından ciddi problemlere yol açabilecek hataların belirlenmesi ve bunların azaltılması için yapılan çalışmalar da hayati önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmayla ilerde hemşirelik mesleğini icra edecek öğrencilerin bu tür hatalarını tespit etmek ve gerekli önlemlerin alınması için bu konuya dikkat çekmek amaçlanmıştır. Tanımlayıcı tipte yaptığımız bu çalışmanın örneklemini soruları cevaplamayı kabul eden Amasya Üniversitesi Sağlık Yüksekokulu 3. ve 4. sınıf öğrencileri (n=129) oluşturmuştur. Mevcut literatür taranarak elde edilen anket formu veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar istatistiksel olarak değerlendirildiğinde; oral ilaç uygulama esnasında hasta ilacı içene kadar yanında beklememe, oral ilacı hastanın yanına bırakma ve başka birinin hazırladığı ilacı hastaya uygulama gibi hataların yüksek oranda yapıldığı görülmüştür. Bu hatalar içinde en az yapılanı ise, ilacın yanlış yoldan uygulanması, yanlış ilaç veya yanlış hastaya ilaç uygulanması olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak öğrencilerin okullarında gördükleri derslerde ve klinik uygulamalarda öğretim elemanları tarafından ilaç uygulamaları sırasında daha sıkı denetimlerin yapılmasının, bu eğitimleri veren akademisyenler ile öğrenci sayısının ve uygulama yapılan sahaların oranlarının dengeli olmasının, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin ilaç ve klinik bilgilerini artırabilecek uygun ders materyallerinin hazırlanması konusunda çalışmaların yapılmasının sağlanması bu tür ilaç uygulama hatalarının önlenmesi açısından önemli olacağı öngörülmüştür.

Medications involving many health disciplines are perhaps the most important process for the nursing profession. In addition to the ethical and legal responsibilities of the students during this process, it is also vital to determine the mistakes that can lead to serious problems for the patient and to do the studies to reduce them. With this study, it is aimed to detect such mistakes of the students who will perform the nursing profession and to draw attention to this issue to take the necessary precautions. The sample of this study, which was made in the descriptive type, was the 3rd and 4th grade students (n = 129) of the Health School of Amasya University who accepted to answer the questionnaire. The questionnaire form obtained by searching the existing literature was used as data collection tool. When the results were evaluated statistically; it was seen that during the oral medication, the mistakes such as not waiting beside the patient, dropping the oral medicine beside the patient and applying a medicine prepared by someone else to the patient were done at a high rate. Among these faults, it has been determined that the least ones are the application of the medicine in the wrong way and the application of the wrong medicine or the wrong patient. As a result, in terms of preventing such medication errors, it was seen as important; - to ensure that students are given more rigorous inspections by their instructors during medications in the lessons they have seen in their schools and in clinical practice, - to ensure that the proportion of the number of lecturers giving such courses, the number of students and the fields practiced are balanced, and - to ensure that the studies are carried out for the preparation of appropriate course materials for nursing students to enhance their knowledge of medicine and clinics.
