Ikhwan al-Safa is a school founded in Basra in the fourth century AH for religious, philosophical, political, and scientific purposes. The pioneers of this school who were interested in the fields such as cosmology, psychology, metaphysics, astronomy, mathematics, etc., wrote an encyclopedic work called Resailu Ikhwan al-Safa, consisting of a total of fifty-two treatises. Zayd b. Rifaa is accepted as one of the important figures of this community. In this article, the life of Zayd b. Rifaa and his place in the history of hadith are examined. Subsequently, the solidity of the forty hadiths collection attributed to him, its narrators, commentaries, sources, authenticity, and its content were questioned. As a result of the study, the value of a person engaged in philosophy and the forty hadiths he narrated in the eyes of hadith scholars was tried to be revealed.
