Abstract

In the present study, the nickel oxide doped glasses with the compositions of (40-x)Li2O-xNiO-60P2O5 glasses (where x = 2.5, 7.5,12.5 and 17.5 mol%) have been prepared and their physical and mechanical properties have been studied. Four various glasses coded as NO-2.5, NO-7.5, NO-12.5 and NO-17.5 have been produced and the variation of density, molar volume (VM), specific volume (VS), Metallization factor (M), Young Modulus (Ym), Bulk Modulus (Bm), Shear Modulus (Sm), Longitudinal Modulus (Lm), Poission's ratio (sigma m) and Micro-Hardness (Hm) have been determined as a function of NiO rate in glass samples. It was seen that the remarkable important effect has been obtained in terms of the NiO rate on these properties.
