This study aimed to obtain a highly active and reusable catalyst for the dehydrogenation of ammonia borane. A nobel metal platinum catalyst supported on a polymer substrate was produced by the alloying and dealloying of platinum-aluminum alloy. The hydrogen generation rate was dependent on a cosputtering time, the solvent of the ammonia borane solution and temperature. The highest hydrogen generation rate was measured as 122.3 L-1 H-2 min(-1) g(-1) catalyst and the activation energy of the reaction was calculated as 22.7 kJ mol(-1) in methanol solution. Furthermore, the catalyst demonstrated high durability when effective washing step was applied after each utilization.
