İlkokullarda yetiştirme programı (İyep)'nın dezavantajlı öğrenciler açısından değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Eğitim, temelleri ailede atılan ve okul eğitimi ile devam eden dinamik bir süreçtir. Bu sürecin en önemli kademesi şüphesiz ki ilkokulda verilen eğitimdir. Okuma ve yazma gibi en temel beceriler ilkokulda kazanılmaktadır. Fakat ilkokulda çeşitli sebeplerle en temel beceriler olan okuma yazma ve matematiksel işlemlere ait kazanımlara ulaşamayan öğrencilere de rastlanmaktadır. Akranlarına göre dezavantajlı konumda olan bu öğrencilere yönelik İlkokullarda Yetiştirme Programı (İYEP) geliştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, İYEP'in dezavantajlı öğrenciler için önemini araştırmak ve uygulanan programı bu öğrenci grupları açısından değerlendirmektir. Çalışma, nitel araştırma yöntemi ile yürütülmüştür. Durum çalışması desenlerinden tekli durum çalışması ile İYEP eğitimi alan bir öğrencinin İYEP süreci değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada İYEP eğitim süreci, doküman incelemesi yoluyla ayrıntılı betimleme yapılarak analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen nitel verilere destek olması bakımından ek olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formlarıyla program hakkında öğretmen görüşlerine de başvurulmuştur. Çalışmanın örneklemi, Çorum ili Mecitözü ilçesi Doğu İlkokulu'nda İYEP eğitimi alan 1 öğrenci ve yine Çorum ilinde İYEP eğitimi veren 14 öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Tekli durum çalışmasından elde edilen verilere göre; İYEP eğitimine katılan öğrencinin akademik başarısının eğitim öncesine göre çok daha iyi bir duruma geldiği ortaya konulmuştur. Fakat matematik dersi çarpma ve bölme işlemlerine ait kazanımlarda katılımcı öğrencinin henüz istenilen düzeye ulaşamadığı tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmen görüşlerine göre; İYEP'in dezavantajlı öğrenciler açısından son derece önemli olduğu, programda kullanılan etkinlik kitaplarının daha da zenginleştirilmesi gerektiği, İYEP grupları oluşturulurken öğretmenlerin de fikirlerine başvurulmasının gerekliliği ve programın öğrencilere yönelik psikososyal destek yönüne ağırlık verilmesinin önemi belirtilmiştir. Gerek tekli durum çalışması gerekse öğretmen görüşlerinden elde edile nitel verilere göre; İYEP 'in dezavantajlı öğrenciler açısından hayati öneme sahip bir program olduğu ortaya konulmuş ve araştırma sonunda araştırmacı tarafından programla ilgili bir takım önerilere yer verilerek çalışma tamamlanmıştır.

Education is a dynamic process, the foundations of which are laid in the family and continue with school education. The most important stage of this process is undoubtedly the education given in primary school. The most basic skills such as reading and writing are acquired in primary school. However, there are also students who cannot reach the basic skills of literacy and mathematical operations due to various reasons in primary school. A Training Program in Primary Schools (IYEP) has been developed for these students who are at a disadvantage compared to their peers. The aim of this study is to investigate the importance of IYEP for disadvantaged students and to evaluate the applied program in terms of these student groups. The study was carried out with the qualitative research method. The IYEP process of a student who received IYEP training was evaluated with a single case study, one of the case study designs. In the study, the IYEP education process was analyzed by making detailed descriptions through document review. In addition to supporting the qualitative data obtained, teachers' opinions about the program were also consulted with semi-structured interview forms developed by the researcher. The sample of the study consists of 1 student receiving IYEP education in the Eastern Primary School in Mecitözü district of Çorum and 14 teachers giving IYEP education in Çorum. According to the data obtained from the single case study; It has been revealed that the academic success of the student participating in the IYEP education is much better than before the education. However, it has been determined that the participant student has not yet reached the desired level in the achievements of multiplication and division operations in mathematics. According to teacher opinions; It has been stated that İYEP is extremely important for disadvantaged students, the activity books used in the program should be enriched even more, the need to consult teachers' ideas while forming İYEP groups, and the importance of focusing on the psychosocial support aspect of the program for students. According to the qualitative data obtained from both single case study and teacher opinions; It has been revealed that İYEP is a program of vital importance for disadvantaged students and at the end of the research, the study was completed by giving some suggestions about the program by the researcher.
