Scorzonera amasiana Hausskn. and Bornm. was described from type specimens collected by J.F.N. Bornmueller in 1889 but it was not collected again until 1993, when it was found near Amasya, Turkey. Populations of S. amasiana were quite small at that limited locations and were vulnerable to human impacts. Therefore, suitable conservation strategies should be developed immediately in order to protect the species from probable extinction. Here, an additional three small populations are reported. Brief history, morphology, habitat and ecology of this endemic species have been discussed. Its current conservation status was re-evaluated with respect to the latest IUCN criteria. A key to distinguish it from the other closely related Turkish species is also provided and its distribution map is appended.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, fen bilimleri dersi 5. Sınıf ''Işığın ve Sesin Yayılması'' ünitesinin buluş yoluyla öğretiminin öğrencilerin derse ilişkin akademik başarılarına ve tutumlarına etkisini belirlemektir. Bu amaç çerçevesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma 2015-2016 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar yarıyılında Doğu Anadolu bölgesinde bulunan bir ilçe ortaokulunun öğrencileri ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Deney grubunda buluş yoluyla öğrenme stratejisine göre hazırlanmış ders etkinlikleriyle öğretim yapılırken, kontrol grubuna ise herhangi bir müdahalede bulunulmamıştır. Uygulama 7 hafta toplam 28 saat sürmüştür. Araştırmada akademik başarı testi ve fen bilimlerine yönelik tutum ölçeği olmak üzere iki farklı ölçme aracı ile veri toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; öğrencilerin akademik başarıları arasında deney grubu lehine istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark olduğu görülmüştür. Fen bilimleri dersine yönelik tutumlarına bakıldığında ise, buluş yoluyla öğrenme stratejisine göre öğrenim gören deney grubu lehine istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Verilerden Buluş Yoluyla Öğretim Stratejisinin akademik başarıyı arttırmada ve öğrencilerin derse olan tutumlarında olumlu etkisi olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.; The purpose of this research is to determine the academic success and attitudes of students attending 5th grade science course in the unit &amp;quot;propagation of light and sound&amp;quot; through discovery learning. In this framework, the research was carried out using the quasi-experimental design. This research was realized at a secondary school in spring term in Eastern part of Turkey in 2015-2016 academic year. In the experiment group, discovery learning strategy was used while teaching and the activities were prepared related to it and no intervention was made to the control group. The application lasted in 7 weeks total 28 hours. In this research, data were collected by using two different measuring instruments, namely academic achievement test and scale of attitudes towards science. As a result of the research; it was found that there was a statistically significant difference between the academic achievements of the students in favor of the experimental group. When we look at attitudes towards science, it is seen that there is a statistically significant difference in favor of the experimental group in which learning takes place with discovery learning. From the data, it was concluded that the discovery learning teaching strategy had a positive effect on academic achievement and the attitudes of the students to the science lessons.
